Officials in Russia and Ukraine reported new civilian casualties on Monday after a series of air attacks hit cities on both sides of the war
In Russia, Ukrainian air attacks killed two people and wounded 17 others in the southern cities of Rostov-on-Don and Belgorod, regional authorities said.
Rostov regional governor Yuri Slyusar said a couple from the same family were killed in Rostov-on-Don, a major export hub near the Sea of Azov. Five other people were wounded there, including two in critical condition, he said.
Slyusar said falling drone debris caused fires at several sites, including warehouses, and blew out windows in an apartment building. In Belgorod, regional authorities said a drone attack wounded 12 people, including two children, and set fire to a residential building.
Ukraine also reported casualties from Russian strikes. Zaporizhzhia regional governor Ivan Fedorov said a guided bomb and drone attack killed one person and wounded two in the southern city, while Sumy regional governor Oleh Hryhorov said a Russian guided bomb attack wounded five people.

Russia and Ukraine both deny targeting civilians in the war launched by Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Meanwhile, Russian drone attacks early on Monday and on Sunday on port infrastructure in Ukraine's southern Mykolaiv region killed one person and damaged three civilian vessels, a local official said.
Acting Regional Governor Heorhii Reshetilov said on the Telegram messaging app that a 48-year-old man had been killed during a Monday morning attack on port infrastructure.
The Russian Defence Ministry said on Monday that its forces have hit two vessels with military cargo in Ukraine's Mykolaiv Port.
