More than 2 tons of cocaine has been seized by Mexican authorities after three boats were intercepted near the coast of Cabo San Lucas.
A helicopter, two airplanes, and an ocean patrol were deployed for the capture, which resulted in a high speed chase at sea.
A total of nine Mexican citizens have been arrested following the incident.
Meanwhile in Sinaloa, the Mexican Navy has located and dismantled a clandestine drug laboratory. The operation, conducted in coordination with the Federal Attorney General's Office, uncovered the lab near the state’s capital, spanning approximately 1,500 square meters.
15 kilograms of finished product and large quantities of chemical precursors and equipment has been seized by authorities.
The lab and materials were neutralized on-site to prevent further drug manufacturing.
