U.S. President Donald Trump will meet Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado at the White House on Thursday, a senior White House official confirmed.
Machado, who won the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, is scheduled to discuss Venezuela’s political situation.
The meeting follows recent U.S. military actions in Venezuela and the capture of former President Nicolás Maduro on 3 January. Maduro’s Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, has been sworn in as acting president.
Machado had previously offered to give her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump, and the White House confirmed that the prize cannot be transferred.
