Russian forces struck the eastern Ukrainian city of Sloviansk on Wednesday, (3 December), dropping nine aerial bombs in a single day, regional authorities said.
At least eight people were injured, including two children, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin.
One of the bombs hit a residential building, causing extensive damage and sending smoke rising into the night sky.
Emergency crews worked through the night to clear rubble and search for survivors, while residents sifted through the remains of their homes.
Footage from the scene showed rescuers using flashlights, cutting through debris, and carrying belongings from damaged apartments.
Governor Filashkin urged civilians to evacuate immediately, warning that no safe areas remain in the Donetsk region.
