Chinese FM holds talks with Kazakhstan's FM

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev in Beijing on Tuesday, reaffirming China’s commitment to deepening strategic ties and advancing Belt and Road cooperation.

Wang, also a member of the CPC Central Committee’s Political Bureau, said Beijing is ready to work with Astana to implement the consensus reached by their leaders, strengthen mutual trust, and enhance collaboration through the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the China–Central Asia Mechanism.

Kosherbayev congratulated China on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic and on the successful conclusion of the CPC’s Fourth Plenary Session. He thanked Beijing for its support of Kazakhstan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and reiterated Astana’s adherence to the one-China policy.

The Kazakh minister added that under President Xi Jinping’s leadership, China is on track to achieve its national goals and that Kazakhstan is ready to work with China to further develop their comprehensive strategic partnership.
