Four people were killed and at least 20 others were injured after gunfire erupted at a crowded bar on St. Helena Island, South Carolina, authorities said.
Hundreds of people were gathered at Willie’s Bar and Grill when shots were fired, sending victims and witnesses running into nearby businesses for safety, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said four victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and at least 20 others were wounded. Four of them remain in critical condition at local hospitals.
