Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of the U.S.-proposed Gaza deal, which will see the release of all Israeli hostages, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday.
"I am pleased to announce that both Israel and Hamas have signed off on the first phase of our peace plan," Trump said on Truth Social.
"This means that all hostages will soon be released, and Israel will pull back its troops to a mutually agreed line as the initial steps towards a strong, lasting, and enduring peace," he added.
