American Bill Nye, renowned science educator and television personality, was honoured with the 2,821st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, recognising his significant contributions to science education and television.
The ceremony took place at 6357 Hollywood Boulevard, marking the 2,821st star since the Walk of Fame's inception in 1960. This recognition celebrates Nye's enduring impact on science education and television.
Before becoming a household name, Nye earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University in 1977. His career in television began with a Steve Martin look-alike contest, which led to his role on the Seattle-based sketch-comedy show "Almost Live!"
Nye's breakthrough came with the educational programme "Bill Nye the Science Guy," which aired from 1993 to 1999 and earned 19 Emmy Awards.
