In response to escalating tensions with the United States, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has authorized military forces to conduct weapons training for civilians in low-income neighborhoods.

This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance national defense readiness amid heightened tensions with the United States. The training sessions are scheduled to take place over the weekend and are intended to instruct citizens in the handling of weapon systems.

The Venezuelan government has expressed concerns over recent U.S. military activities in the Caribbean, including strikes on vessels allegedly involved in drug trafficking. In response, Venezuela has initiated a series of military drills, dubbed "Sovereign Caribbean," to demonstrate its defense capabilities and assert its sovereignty.

These developments underscore the escalating tensions between Venezuela and the United States, with both nations taking steps to strengthen their military positions in the region.
