Dublin Airport terminal 2 has evacuated passengers as a safety precaution it said in a post on X, saying that passenger and staff safety was its top priority.

The airport urged passengers to follow staff to designated assembly points while warning that flight operations may be temporarily impacted.

Police are at the scene following an incident, the Irish Examiner newspaper reported. The Irish police press office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Passengers were seen responding to the post asking for further details regarding travel times and fligh resumptions.

Local media is reporting that the evacuation occured due to a possible bomb threat, however this has not been independently verified by Anewz.

It is unclear if the cordoning off of the terminal is linked to a cyberattack incident on Friday night which disrupted operations at some of Europe's largest airports leaving thousands stranded.
