Five UN police officers killed as armoured vehicle crashes in Central African Republic

Five United Nations police officers from the Republic of the Congo were killed when an armoured personnel carrier in the Central African Republic crashed.

A search and rescue operation is currently underway to recover the bodies. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.

UN police are deployed in the Central African Republic as part of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) to stabilise the country, protect civilians, and assist local authorities in maintaining security.
