Turkish president marks anniversary of Baku’s liberation

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Monday marked the anniversary of the liberation of Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, from enemy occupation.

In a social media message, Erdoğan congratulated the people of Azerbaijan and honored those who took part in the city’s liberation.

“I sincerely congratulate the anniversary of the liberation of Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, from enemy occupation,” Erdoğan wrote.

He also honored Nuri Pasha, the commander of the Caucasian Islamic Army, along with “all our heroes,” and conveyed his “greetings and affection to the brotherly Azerbaijani people.”
