Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan expressed that both Germany and the UK have shown a positive attitude towards the sale of Eurofighter jets to Türkiye, and Ankara aims to complete the purchase as quickly as possible.

Türkiye has been negotiating to acquire Eurofighter Typhoon jets, manufactured by a consortium involving Germany, the UK, Italy, and Spain, with companies Airbus, BAE Systems, and Leonardo involved in the project.

Erdoğan noted that both British and German leaders have been supportive of the deal. "By God's will, I believe we will receive our jets as soon as possible," he stated during a flight from northern Cyprus.

"In my discussions with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, I sensed their positive approach, and I am hopeful we will move forward with this step," Erdoğan added, according to the transcript of his remarks released on Monday.
