White House says Trump diagnosed with chronic vein condition

The White House confirmed on Thursday that President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, following questions about visible swelling in his legs.

Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said Trump underwent a full vascular check-up, which found no signs of deep vein thrombosis, arterial disease, or heart issues. All lab tests and an echocardiogram came back normal, she added.

Leavitt also addressed images showing makeup on Trump's hand, saying it was used to cover minor bruising from handshakes and aspirin use, which she described as routine and harmless.

The condition, common in people over 70, occurs when veins in the legs can’t return blood properly to the heart, leading to swelling.
