President Ilham Aliyev has ratified two memoranda of understanding with Saudi Arabia, covering plant protection and maritime certification.
The Azerbaijani president has signed into law the approval of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of plant protection and quarantine between Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. The MoU was signed in Riyadh on April 28, 2025.
A second agreement was also approved concerning the mutual recognition of seafarer certificates. The MoU between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and Saudi Arabia’s General Transport Authority covers certification under Regulation I/10 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, and includes annexes.
Both agreements aim to deepen bilateral cooperation in agriculture and transport safety standards.
