New York governor wants Trump to take action on drone attack risks

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has urged the White House to take immediate steps to address the growing threat of drone attacks on the United States, citing past incidents and their increasing use in global military operations.

In a letter to President Donald Trump, released on Monday, Hochul warned, “An attack targeting strategic military sites or critical infrastructure in New York presents an urgent threat to national security.” She added that the federal government is currently “unprepared and poorly positioned” to detect and counter drone threats, while states remain limited in their response due to a lack of legislative authority and inaction from the Federal Aviation Administration.
