The Kremlin says it remains calm after Donald Trump’s criticism of Vladimir Putin, expressing hope for ongoing dialogue with Washington despite rising tensions.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow aims to continue efforts to repair what he called a 'broken' relationship with the U.S.

"We expect to continue our dialogue with Washington and our line on repairing the rather broken bilateral relations," he added.

Trump had voiced frustration with Putin, highlighting his past approval of sending defensive weapons to Ukraine and hinting at further sanctions.

Although Trump once vowed to end the war quickly, he admitted the conflict is more complex than anticipated.

Peskov acknowledged Trump’s realization, saying it is significant that he now understands the Ukrainian conflict is harder to resolve than originally thought.
