Zelenskyy imposes sanctions on Chinese firms linked to Russian drones

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has imposed sanctions on several Chinese companies after officials claimed Chinese-made parts were found in Russian drones used in a recent attack on Kyiv.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on Tuesday imposing sanctions on five China-based companies.

The sanctions, based on a decision by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, took effect immediately upon publication.

Ukraine’s State Security Service said last Friday that investigators had discovered Chinese-made parts in drones used by Russia during an attack on the capital.

This follows similar sanctions announced by Zelenskyy in April, targeting nearly 100 individuals and entities, including some linked to China, for allegedly participating in the production of Russian Iskander missiles—a claim Beijing has denied.

As of now, neither Russian nor Chinese officials have responded to the latest measures.
