U.S. President Donald Trump said Ukraine needs Patriot missiles for defense after a positive call with President Zelenskyy, expressing frustration over Russia's refusal to pursue a ceasefire.

Trump spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the urgent need for Patriot missile systems to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses amid intensified Russian attacks. He criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for rejecting ceasefire efforts and continuing the violence.

Trump described the Patriot missiles as 'pretty amazing' and acknowledged Ukraine’s heavy bombardment. Zelenskyy highlighted their discussions on joint defense production and increased cooperation with the U.S.

Trump also talked with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz regarding Ukraine’s request for Patriots but no decision has been finalized. Despite a temporary pause in U.S. weapons shipments, sources remain hopeful that deliveries will resume following the productive talks.
