Former Real Madrid star Marcelo announced his retirement from football on Thursday.
The 36-year-old enjoyed a highly successful career, securing five UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, and six Spanish LaLiga championships with Real Madrid. After leaving Europe, he returned to his boyhood club Flamengo in Brazil in November 2024.
On the international stage, the former Brazil defender contributed to his country's triumph in the 2013 Confederations Cup, scoring six goals in 58 appearances.
