Following his departure from Sauber, Valtteri Bottas will return to Mercedes as the team’s reserve driver for the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Bottas originally left Mercedes after the 2021 season, when team principal Toto Wolff promoted George Russell from Williams to partner Hamilton. Now, Russell will lead the team in 2025, joined by rising junior driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli, as Hamilton moves to Ferrari to replace Carlos Sainz.
