President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree approving the 'Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on International Multimodal Transportation.'

Once the agreement comes into force, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport will oversee its implementation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to notify the Chinese government once all domestic procedures for the agreement’s entry into force have been completed.

The agreement was originally signed on 23 April in Beijing during a ceremony attended by President Ilham Aliyev and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The document was signed by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, and China’s Minister of Transport, Liu Wei.

The deal is expected to enhance connectivity and cooperation in international cargo and transit logistics between the two nations.
