Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are considering issuing a commemorative coin to celebrate their bilateral relations, as part of broader efforts to deepen financial and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
During a meeting in Baku, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, and the Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Taleh Kazimov, discussed the possibility of issuing a commemorative coin symbolizing the close ties between their countries.
Ambassador Bayel highlighted the high level of Kazakh-Azerbaijani cooperation, particularly in the economic and financial sectors. He noted active collaboration between the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and key institutions of Kazakhstan, including the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, and the Astana International Financial Centre.
Bayel also formally invited Azerbaijan to participate in the first Council of Central Banks of the Organization of Turkic States, scheduled for May 2025 in Astana. Chairman Kazimov confirmed Azerbaijan’s attendance and welcomed Kazakhstan’s initiative to strengthen financial dialogue within the Turkic region.
