CIS security chiefs meet in Dushanbe to strengthen cooperation
A meeting of the security agencies of the CIS member states took place on May 16th in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
On April 17th, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Slovenia’s Deputy PM Tanja Fajon to discuss expanding political and economic ties, energy cooperation, the Middle Corridor’s potential, and strengthening links between business communities.
During the meeting, both parties expressed satisfaction with the growing political relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, highlighting the recent foreign minister-level political consultations as a positive development.
President Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to enhancing relations with Balkan nations.
The conversation focused on expanding cooperation in the energy sector, with both sides discussing future opportunities and emphasizing the need for closer ties between their business communities to boost trade and economic collaboration.
They also discussed the importance of the Middle Corridor, recognizing it as a vital trade route connecting Europe and China. The potential for cooperation between Azerbaijani and Slovenian ports was also considered in this context.
Additionally, the two leaders exchanged views on various other matters of shared interest.
