Azerbaijan highlighted the mine contamination issue and its demining efforts at the 28th International Meeting of Mine Action National Directors and United Nations Advisers (NDM-UN28) held in Geneva.
A presentation was made on the mine problem facing Azerbaijan and the activities being carried out to eliminate it at the 28th International Meeting of Mine Action National Directors and United Nations Advisers (NDM-UN28) in Geneva. The Azerbaijani delegation is led by ANAMA deputy chairman Samir Poladov.
According to Poladov, mine contamination is one of the most pressing humanitarian issues on a global scale.
The event featured panel discussions and an exchange of views on the use of new technologies and traditional methods in humanitarian demining.
