Severe storms and tornadoes leave trail of destruction across U.S.

Severe storms, including tornadoes, hail, and strong winds, struck the central and eastern US from Friday night into Saturday, causing three fatalities in Texas.

Winds reaching 128 km/h led to deadly car crashes in Texas due to dust storms, overturned trucks, downed trees, and power outages. Oklahoma saw over 130 fires, prompting evacuations but no reported casualties.

Governors in Alabama, Kansas, and Missouri declared emergencies as the storm intensifies, moving toward the Southeast.

The National Weather Service warns of a high risk of severe thunderstorms in the Lower Mississippi/Tennessee Valleys and the Southeast on Saturday, with a lesser threat extending to the Mid-Atlantic on Sunday.
