Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu on the sidelines of the 32nd Ministerial Council meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) held in Vienna.
During the meeting, the sides discussed key areas of the Azerbaijan–OSCE bilateral cooperation agenda, the challenges currently facing the OSCE, regional and international security issues, the current situation in the region, and the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The meeting emphasized the importance of promoting the unconditional fulfillment of international legal norms, in particular the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of internationally recognized borders, at a time when security in Europe faces serious challenges.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the current situation and realities in the post-conflict period, the outcomes of the Washington Summit, and Azerbaijan’s expectations within the framework of the peace process.
The importance of closing the Minsk Process and related structures, which are remnants of the occupation period, for the effectiveness of OSCE’s efforts, as well as preparing to work in accordance with regional realities, was emphasized, and the outcomes achieved were lauded.
The parties also exchanged views on issues of mutual concern within the OSCE and the security situation in the region as a whole.
