The Women's Forum of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) commenced on 2 July in the city of Lachin, located in Azerbaijan.

The event is being held for the first time as part of the “ECO Week” initiative, spearheaded by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

The main objective of the forum is to enhance intersectoral cooperation among ECO member states and to strengthen the role of women in all aspects of human development. The forum also aims to reinforce the contribution of women to the establishment of sustainable, inclusive, and stable societies across the ECO region.

Key topics on the agenda include the role of women in ensuring climate sustainability, empowering girls and women through education, promoting digital inclusion, innovation, and the sharing of experiences.

The event also serves as a significant platform for dialogue and cooperation among female leaders from ECO countries, as well as with relevant international partner organisations.
