Authorities said flights at Tehran's Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini airports will be suspended during the ceremonies, with some restrictions continuing into Tuesday. Airspace over Mashhad will also be closed on July 9 for Khamenei's final burial ceremony at the Imam Reza Shrine.
Khamenei was killed in a joint U.S.-Israeli attack on February 28. Funeral events began on Friday and will continue across Iran and Iraq before concluding in Mashhad.
