Fans of the hit drama series "Outlander" have a chance to own a piece of the landmark television show with costumes, props and set pieces going under the hammer in London.
Auction house Bonhams unveiled highlights from “Outlander: The Auction” on Friday 17 July, featuring 12 years’ worth of production memorabilia from the hit historical drama.
The collection includes costumes, props and set pieces from the eight-season series, which concluded with its finale in May.
“Outlander” follows Claire and Jamie Fraser, played by Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, whose time-travelling journey takes them from Scotland to Paris and beyond.
Among the auction lots are Claire’s iconic red ball gown from Season 2, estimated to sell for £3,000 to £5,000 ($4,000 and $6,700), and Jamie’s costume from the Battle of Culloden, valued at £1,500 to £2,000 ($2,000 and $2,700).
Bonhams Head of Sales Madeleine Cater said the auction features a wide range of items, from early Scottish Highland costumes to luxurious Paris outfits and later American-era pieces.
“There’s such a big range from all of the tartan from the early Scottish Highlander episodes through to Paris, which was amazing, sort of sumptuous, luxurious costumes, through into America,” Cater said.
She added that Claire’s red dress could become a fan favourite, saying the auction house was eager to see the level of interest it attracts.
Cater said the auction is expected to draw interest from the show’s global fan base, with many viewers eager to own a piece of the production.
“People are just really excited to own a part of the show,” she said.
A live auction will take place at Bonhams London on 5 August, while an online auction will run until 6 August.
The costumes, props and set pieces will also be displayed in an exhibition for fans and potential buyers from 20 July to 4 August.
