This year's nominations continue the momentum of several recent Emmy favourites.
At the most recent Emmy Awards, The Pitt went on to win Outstanding Drama Series, while Noah Wyle claimed the award for Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Hacks remained a major force in comedy, with Jean Smart winning another Emmy for her performance as veteran comedian Deborah Vance.
In the limited series field, Adolescence won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, while Stephen Graham and Owen Cooper were recognised for their performances.
Industry observers have noted that Emmy voters have increasingly rewarded ensemble-driven dramas and character-focused comedies in recent years, trends that appear to have benefited both The Pitt and Hacks.
Among the most closely watched categories will be the drama acting contests.
Noah Wyle faces competition from Sterling K. Brown, Gary Oldman, Mark Ruffalo and Rufus Sewell, while Zendaya, Keri Russell, Carrie Coon, Rhea Seehorn and Chase Infiniti are among the nominees for Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
In comedy, Jean Smart, Quinta Brunson and Ayo Edebiri headline a competitive field.
With a mix of established Emmy favourites and first-time nominees, this year's ceremony is shaping up to be one of the most competitive television awards races in recent memory.
