International superstar Taylor Swift has revealed her 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl', during a podcast appearance with her partner, U.S. football star Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason.
“This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift said while holding a blurred version of the cover in a clip from the New Heights podcast, posted on Instagram. The full episode is due to air at 7 p.m. ET (2300 GMT) on Tuesday.
The release date will be announced later, according to her website, which lists pre-orders for vinyl at $30, cassettes at $20 and CDs with a poster at $13.
The announcement comes after Swift regained control of all her music by purchasing the master recordings of her first six albums in May, following a long-running dispute with her former record label.
Her previous album, The Tortured Poets Department, sold 2.61 million units in its first week in the U.S., breaking streaming and vinyl sales records, according to Billboard. Spotify also said it became the most-streamed album in a single week on the platform.
Swift, 35, is in the midst of her record-breaking Eras tour, the first concert tour to surpass $1 billion in revenue, a phenomenon some economists have dubbed “Swiftflation” for its impact on local economies.
Other major releases are also on the horizon, including Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend in August and Ed Sheeran’s next album in September.
