Two Harry Potter actresses, Emma Watson and Zoe Wanamaker, have each received a six-month driving ban after separate speeding offences, both sentenced on the same day at a Buckinghamshire court.
Actors Emma Watson and Zoe Wanamaker have both been disqualified from driving for six months following unrelated speeding offences.
Watson was fined £1,044 after being recorded at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford on 31 July 2023. With nine points already on her licence, the offence took her to 12, prompting an automatic ban. Her legal representative told High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court that she is currently enrolled in a creative writing master’s programme at Oxford University.
Wanamaker was also fined £1,044 after being caught at 46mph in a 40mph limit on the M4 in Berkshire on 7 August 2024. She, too, had nine points prior to the offence and accepted the resulting six-month ban.
District Judge Arvind Sharma confirmed that three points were added to each of their licences, enforcing disqualification under standard UK road traffic law.
Both actors have strong ties to the Harry Potter franchise and maintain active careers in the entertainment industry.
