Uzbekistan has launched the feasibility study for the Tashkent — Samarkand railway line. Trains on this route will reach speeds of up to 300 km/h, greatly cutting down travel time.

The South Korean consortium K-Rail One Team, consisting of Korail, the National Railroad Agency, SamAn, and Dongmyeong Technology Corporation, has begun working on the feasibility study for the new railway route.

A representative of the K-Rail Consortium stated, “We will focus our efforts on expanding Korean railway technology to countries around the world.”

The Ministry of Transport has confirmed the signing of documents that pave the way for the project's practical implementation.

The feasibility study is funded by the Export-Import Bank of Korea’s Economic Development Cooperation Fund.

The feasibility study is expected to be completed by March 2026. As part of the project, specialists will analyze the route, assess passenger demand, and calculate the project’s economic viability.
