The U.S. envoy to Türkiye has confirmed that a Turkish Airlines’ Boeing aircraft deal has been finalised, marking a significant step in expanding the carrier’s fleet.
Tom Barrack told reporters outside the White House, that “The deal is done,” offering no further details on the transaction. His remarks followed a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Last week, Turkish Airlines said talks with Boeing were still ongoing over a potential new plane order. The airline’s Communications Senior Vice President, Yahya Üstün, said discussions had been long-running, but “no definitive decision has been reached yet.”
Turkish Airlines previously reached an agreement last year for four Boeing 777 freighters to boost its global air cargo operations.
Pegasus, another Turkish carrier, also placed an order for 200 Boeing aircraft in 2024.
