Seven Baltic and Nordic countries asked on Friday to ban Russian soldiers from entering the Schengen zone.

The interior ministers of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Poland said the threat from Russia will continue even after the war in Ukraine ends. They said countries should not give visas or residence permits to Russian soldiers or anyone who fought in the war against Ukraine.

Estonian Interior Minister Igor Taro said, “We will not grant them residence permits, we will not grant them visas, because this whole group, which has killed and destroyed there (in Ukraine), poses a very serious security threat to all of us.”
