Israel’s military is bracing for a long-term conflict, with IDF officials warning of expected Iranian retaliation and ongoing operations in Gaza.
The Israel Defense Forces are preparing for a prolonged military campaign, IDF spokesperson Efi Defrin said during a press briefing on Friday.
“We will continue operating until the objectives of the war are achieved,” he stressed, referring both to the escalation with Iran and the ongoing operation in Gaza.
According to Defrin, Israel expects retaliatory action from Iran: “We know they are preparing a response and intend to open fire on us,” he said.
He also noted that most of the Iranian drones launched on Friday in response to Israeli strikes were intercepted.
