A shooting at a minibus taxi rank in Cape Town, South Africa, left four people dead and three others injured early Friday, according to police.

The gunfire erupted around 6:00 a.m. at the old taxi rank in Mfuleni, a township about 30 kilometers east of central Cape Town, said Western Cape police spokesperson Novela Potelwa.

Police said one of the injured victims is believed to be a commuter. Patrols have been stepped up in the area while investigations continue.

Authorities are offering a reward of 100,000 South African rands (roughly $5,300) for any information leading to arrests. All tips will be kept confidential, and whistleblowers will be protected.
