The US State Department has approved a potential $180 million sale of precision-guided bombs to Poland, the Pentagon announced on Wednesday.
The deal includes GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bombs and related equipment, aimed at strengthening Poland’s air-to-ground strike capabilities. According to the statement, the sale would help Poland respond to evolving security challenges, defend its territory more effectively, and meet NATO operational standards.
“This proposed sale will enhance Poland’s ability to address current and future threats, improve its precision strike capabilities, and support its role within NATO,” the Pentagon said.
The Boeing Corporation, based in Missouri, has been named the primary contractor. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency formally notified Congress of the potential sale on Wednesday.
