Scholz: Putin's views on Ukraine war entrenched

During an an hour-long call between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Russian President Vladimir Putin, their first conversation since 2022, both sides retained their current positions.
Scholz commented on the phone call from Berlin airport before his departure for the G20 summit in Brazil.
He said the conversation had given no indication of a shift in the Russian President's thinking on the war in Ukraine.
