The Azerbaijan embassy in Kyiv was damaged by debris from an Iskander missile during Russia’s overnight attack, which killed four people and injured dozens, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Friday.
Zelenskyy said the main target of the night-time barrage was Kyiv, though strikes were also reported in the Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa regions. He added that Russia launched about 430 drones and 18 missiles, including ballistic and aeroballistic types.
Zelenskyy confirmed that four people were killed and “dozens” injured, including children and a pregnant woman. Emergency crews continued search-and-rescue work across multiple districts on Friday.
He urged partners to increase sanctions on Russia and strengthen Ukraine’s air defences, arguing that Moscow “can still sell oil and build its schemes.” Zelenskyy said Ukraine was responding with long-range capabilities but required additional systems and interceptor missiles from Europe and the U.S.
The attack came on the 1,360th day of the full-scale war, according to Ukrainian authorities.
