An explosion believed to be intentional struck the Harvard University Medical School’s Goldenson Building in Boston early Saturday, with two people reportedly seen fleeing the scene and no injuries confirmed.
Law enforcement agencies are investigating an early-morning explosion inside the Goldenson Building at Harvard Medical School’s Longwood Campus. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. local time on the fourth floor of the facility.
A Harvard University Police Department officer responding to a fire alarm reportedly saw two unidentified individuals running from the building. Authorities later confirmed that the explosion appeared to have been deliberately caused.
The Boston Fire Department’s Arson Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are assisting in the probe. Officials said no one was injured, and no secondary explosive devices were found.
The motive and type of device remain unclear as the investigation continues. Police have urged anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area to come forward, according to U.S. media.
