Kremlin urges patience as investigation into Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash continues
The Kremlin has stated it is incorrect to speculate about the cause of the deadly Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash in Kazakhstan until an official investigation is completed. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, speaking on December 26, emphasized that aviation authorities must conduct a thorough investigation before any conclusions are made. “Until investigators make their conclusions, it would be incorrect to make any kind of hypothesis. So, we cannot do it and nobody should do it. We must await the end of this investigation” Peskov said.
The crash occurred on December 25 near Aktau, Kazakhstan, when an Embraer EMBR3.SA jet, en route from Baku to Grozny, deviated from its planned route and crashed. There 62 passangers and 5 crew members on board. Among the passengers there were Russian citizens who are now being sent back to Moscow.
