Three workers died on Friday after falling from a freight elevator at a construction site in the Vomero neighbourhood of Naples, Italian media reported.
The men were renovating a building when the accident occurred.
The incident comes amid growing concern over workplace safety in Italy.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s government has said improving health and safety standards is a priority.
According to workplace accident insurance agency INAIL, 1,202 people died in work-related incidents in Italy last year, a slight increase from the previous year.
