A knife attack aboard a high-speed train travelling from Hamburg to Vienna left several passengers injured on Thursday.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:55 p.m. local time as the train was passing near the city of Regensburg, according to Bavarian police.
Authorities confirmed that four individuals sustained minor injuries in the incident. The suspect was apprehended at the scene by police officers.
The train, which was carrying around 500 passengers at the time, came to a stop after an onboard passenger activated the emergency brake.
Emergency services responded with a large deployment of personnel, and the area was cordoned off as investigators launched an inquiry and began collecting evidence.
