Türkiye and Gabon have signed eight significant agreements in Ankara on 31 July. During an official ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, joint cooperation documents between the two countries were formalised.
Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burhanettin Duran represented Türkiye at the inauguration ceremony of Gabonese President Brice Oligui Nguema on Saturday, as Gabon officially transitioned from military to civilian rule.
Brice Oligui Nguema has secured 90.35% of votes in Gabon’s presidential election, extending his hold on power after the 2023 coup.
Gabonese voters head to the polls Saturday in the first presidential election since the 2023 bloodless military coup. Voting runs with over 900,000 eligible voters casting ballots at 3,037 polling stations, according to the Interior Ministry.
