Pakistan will begin its first freight train service to Russia from Lahore on June 22. The route is part of the INSTC and aims to connect Pakistan's rail network with Central Asia, establishing a new trade corridor via Iran, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.
Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) will buy seven new locomotives and spare parts from Chinese company "CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd”. under a $26 million agreement.
A freight train loaded with steel products, air conditioners, and other goods departed Wujiashan Station in Wuhan, marking the official launch of a regular freight service connecting central China with Central Asia.
More than 100,000 trains have completed their journeys on the China-Europe freight train service since it began in 2011. This service is part of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and connects more than 200 cities across 25 European countries.
