China has revised the number of dead following a gas explosion at a coal mine in northern China, from 90 to 82, in what is the country's deadliest mining accident in 17 years.
Peru has ordered a 30-day suspension of mining activities in the northern district of Pataz, following the kidnapping and killing of 13 gold mine workers by illegal mining gangs, President Dina Boluarte announced on Monday.
Three miners are feared dead and six others remain trapped in a flooded coal mine in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, with rescue efforts underway. Authorities suspect the flooding was caused by miners hitting an underground water channel in the suspected illegal mine.
