A Qantas A380 flying from London to Singapore made an emergency landing at Baku’s Heydar Aliyev International Airport after a passenger onboard required urgent medical attention.

The captain of a Qantas Airlines aircraft en route from London to Singapore requested an emergency landing early Monday at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku due to a sudden medical emergency involving a passenger.

The Airbus A380 successfully touched down at 07:55 local time, and the passenger received immediate medical assistance upon landing. Their condition is currently under evaluation by healthcare professionals.

The Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft, requires airports with specialized infrastructure. Heydar Aliyev International Airport is among the few in the region fully equipped to handle such aircraft, with advanced ground systems, wide runways, and high-level service facilities.
