In a video address to the “Islamophobia in Focus: Unveiling Bias, Shattering Stigmas” conference in Baku, UN Under-Secretary-General and UNAOC High Representative Miguel Ángel Moratinos warned of widespread institutional discrimination and socio-economic barriers faced by Muslims.
He criticized negative media portrayals, political rhetoric, and policies that fuel stigmatization and racial profiling. Emphasizing the importance of freedom of belief, Moratinos condemned attacks on religious sites and urged the international community to oppose all forms of hatred and discrimination.
